Weight Loss Through Surgery
Weight loss surgery, also called bariatric surgery, is a tool available
to those who are very overweight to lose and maintain a healthier weight.
While it has helped many people live healthier lives, it is not a
quick-fix or cure for obesity.

Is Surgery for You?
To be considered for weight loss surgery, you must know your body mass
index (BMI) which measures body fat using your height and weight.
To
find your BMI, click here. In addition to having a high BMI, you
must be healthy enough for surgery as determined by a series of lab tests,
psychological evaluation and more.
